In December 2007, Ready Foods opened its newest 80,000 square food processing facility.
The new Plant is a kettle cook operation dedicated to the production of soups and sauces.
In designing the Plant, Ready Foods incorporated guidelines established by United States Green Building Council (USGBC)
through its "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" or LEED guidelines.
The Plant is currently a registered LEED building and in the coming year hopes to obtain LEED accreditation.
Food processing by its very nature is an energy intensive operation.
By incorporating new green design concepts, our aim is to become an industry leader.
We hope to show that incorporating green design is both good for the environment and business.
In addition to our newest facility, Ready Foods
owns and operates five additional food
processing plants and one warehouse facility in
Denver, Colorado. Two
facilities are under the auspice of the USDA and
three operate under the Food & Drug
Administration (FDA).
Each facility has been optimized to
produce specific products, but remains flexible
enough to produce products for sister plants.
This redundancy allows Ready Foods to
adjust quickly to customer growth. Our plants
have been designed to follow the growth of our
customers.
