Ready Foods Earns 2026 Innovation Spotlight Award

The Colorado Green Business Network (CGBN) has honored Ready Foods with a 2026 Innovation Spotlight Award. Recognizing our new direct-to-plant delivery model, which cut fleet mileage by 54%.

Fewer miles on the road

When warehouse supervisor Ismael Torres took over our warehouse logistics, he noticed something that didn't add up. Products were being delivered to our warehouse, only to be loaded back onto trucks and driven to our other plant locations.

In 2025, Ismael led our switch to a direct-to-plant delivery model. Products now flow straight from our suppliers to the plant where they'll be used, cutting out unnecessary trips. The change covers 100% of our warehouse operations and every driver who moves product between our facilities.

  • Total fleet mileage reduction: 54%

  • Gasoline use reduction: 90%

  • Disel use reduction: 19%

Fewer handoffs also freed up time for our warehouse team and cut down on truck traffic between our plants. These are lasting changes, not one-time gains, and the savings keep adding up every year.

A shout-out to our intern, Mirabelle

This summer, Ready Foods hosted Mirabelle, a sustainability intern through the CGBN and Colorado State University Impact MBA partnership. The program pairs MBA candidates with Colorado organizations for 10 weeks of hands-on sustainability work. We're proud to share that Mirabelle received the Best Pollution Prevention Project Award for her outstanding work with our team. Congratulations, Mirabelle!

Our commitment continues

As a family-owned company since 1972, we believe running a better business means caring for our community and our environment. We're excited to keep finding new ways to reduce our footprint.

Thank you to the Colorado Green Business Network for this recognition.
