5 Things We are Excited About at Our New Food Manufacturing Facility

We have a new food manufacturing facility! Here are just a few of the things we are especially excited about.

An Automatic Bean Dumper

We make LOTS of immersion-cooked beans each year and this new facility in Denver, Colorado will help us make even more. This new piece of equipment helps our teammates safely dump a large quantity of beans to prepare them for cooking. Working smarter, not harder!

A GIANT Cooler

Running out of space is never fun. Check out the size of this cooler, it is a serious upgrade for us and helps us better serve our customers and create more delicious food.

A State-of-the-Art Packing Line

Once our food is made, it still has to get packed into a box and ready for shipment to our customers. This new packing line helps us operate more efficiently all while putting less strain on our teammates’ bodies. Rather than lifting cases, packing teammates monitor and operate this machinery.

ASRS: Automatic Storage and Retrieval System

This racking system makes storing and shipping pallets of food in our giant cooler really easy. The system automatically moves and sorts pallets in a sequence that makes sense for the shipping schedule our Shipping & Receiving creates. Now our teammates can spend their time strategizing the right flow for orders, rather than in the cooler shuffling pallets.

Leak Detection

Leaking bags of food happen on occasion, but at our new facility, we don’t have to rely on human eyes to catch it. Instead we have a leak detector that will let our operators know if there is a leak. Then, they focus on fixing what is causing the leaks, not finding the bag that is leaking.

But Wait, There’s More!

We had trouble picking just 5 things. Here are a few more interesting features of our new facility:

  • Our new packing line accommodates a more efficiently designed box, which means we can reduce our cardboard consumption and the footprint of each case.

  • Sky lights! We are all so excited for added natural light in our workspace AND reduced energy usage.
